I got an invite and signed up for bluesky. I’m struck by the difference in timeline algorithms. The bluesky timeline is obviously serving “popular” people. Since they’re mostly popular for good reason, this makes the site more “fun”. However, I’m actually getting some engagement with my toots on Mastodon, even though practically no one follows me. I’m not popular. So Bluesky is good for entertainment, while Mastodon seems better for conversation.
