Today, April 29, in 1980, the "Master of Suspense", Alfred Hitchcock, English director, producer, screenwriter and actor, died at the age of 80.

His works are timeless.

His wife, Lady Hitchcock (Alma Lucy Reville Hitchcock), who collaborated on his work, including Shadow of a Doubt, Suspicion, and The Lady Vanishes, passed away two years later.

They were married in 1926.

@paul My 19-year-old son and I watched "The 39 Steps" (1935) a few weeks ago and his (unprompted) observations were pretty much mine as well. I was surprised he had an opinion at all - I'm not used to him being interested in "old" movies. The storyline was a bit weak. The camerawork, however, was quite a different story. You could already see Hitchcock's classic "high shots" and other techniques taking shape. Interesting stuff.
