There's a lot of bad financial advice on the Internet presented as 'life hacks'. They target people who have a deep insecurity around financial best practices, and then traps them into learning and doing terrible things that are not good for financial security.
So much of the financial industry is heavily regulated, but lifestyle content pretending to be financial advice isn't.
@skinnylatte My ex fell for these traps & the person actually started roping his unaware ass in, when he was working in retail management. After roping my ex in, at store - they'd meet for coffee to discuss financial investing & ex would come home, trying to get me to join in some crypto investing. I refused multiple times. I never met or trusted the people he told me about & links he showed me felt shady. These kind of financial advisors are just con artists.
