I wonder if I live in online bubble or are people really so disenchanted with AI. From my pointing view only ceos and vcs still buy in the hype.

@mms I've done a quick search on pewresearch.org.

A few data points (about U.S. adults):

  • 20% of employed adults have used ChatGPT for work, 31% in the 18-29 age bracket [1]
  • 22% interact with "AI" several times a day [2]
  • 10% feel "excited" about "AI", 36% feel "equal excited and concerned", 52% feel "more concerned than excited" (as of Aug 2023) [3]

So the answer to your question is yes.
