I’m going with this one from a lightning storm in September 2019 after the sun had gone down. Never seen so much lightning or heard such continuous thunder in my life and actually considered hiding in the basement.
It came close in fact to being the last picture on the camera roll (weakened by radiation therapy, I fell down the stairs in my house, landed on my forehead, and fractured three vertebrae in my neck) but almost two years later I’m still here.
After a couple days they told me I shouldn’t ride the bike to sessions any more. They had reason.
@RickiTarr Maybe not really spooky but here's a house in the village of Badolato in Calabria, Italy where the owners have painstakingly conserved a Mussolini quote and portrait on the wall, dating from no later than 1943.
It used to say "È solo l'azione che da' la tempra alle anime" which is from a 1932 discourse of the dictator and means something like "Only action hardens our souls".
For context: in Germany they deleted all visible remains of National Socialism. In Italy... not so.
