It was common for games to have a "maybe time to take a break?" messages, especially Nintendo. Maybe to cover some legal stuff, or to enforce a good play-life balance, I never thought it was a bad idea, but we don't see that stuff much these days.
@djlink Nah, the AAA industry has switched to the "you have to play at least 4 hours a day to finish this month's battlepass, or you can pay some extra so you don't have to play as much, or you know...you can just be a scrub and not get the cool, once in a lifetime cosmetics...one more game?"
@djlink now it's "hey, maybe it's time to give us some money, or idk if you're like poor of something, we could do with a rave review. Or all your personal data, your call, really."

@djlink I recently bought one of these timer cubes that you turn on a different side and it starts a timer, so I'm trying to force myself to take breaks every hour or so...
Relies on discipline so it's not a silver bullet, but at least it gives a bit of a nudge...?
In the end it's really just a matter of a habit to gain 😊
