When writing code, turning on something familiar/vibey (usually synthwave/retrowave) can aid focus and make hours of work melt away. Occasionally harder music like electronic rock or drum’n'bass can get me amped up which channels directly into my work.

More nuanced/intricate music usually only works alongside creative work like UI mockups, making icons, or drawing and can also have a time-melting effect.

There are some days where only peace and quiet works though.
