This graph of falling prices for batteries is all the reason anyone should need to justify making the decision to pause building new LNG export terminals.

Renewable energy and storage can replace all of our fossil fuel use for electricity production, heating, and industry.

We need more people to promote climate action locally though.

In the USA, and probably Canada too, one of the biggest obstacles we have is the fossil fuel industry's astroturf groups successfully blocking clean energy projects.

Our DOE just published a 'Survey of Utility-Scale Wind and
Solar Developers Report'
Robi Nilson, Ben Hoen and Joe Rand that helps show how much success they're having in their disinformation efforts.

This isn't a novice-level entry into the world of biochar and its potential role in helping to reverse the global warming we've caused and the two presentations are quite bland by most modern standards, but I really like this graphic that Nikolas Hagermann shared to help explain pyrolysis.

I also quite liked that he showed the snowboard built using biochar that won a medal for its rider

Carbon Dioxide Reduction via Direct Air Capture is in no way THE solution to global warming, but it can solve it after we've stopped burning fossil fuels.

It's nice that under Joe Biden we're doing so well at that.

Solar, batteries & wind/RE dominate (99.6%) US net capacity additions in next 12 months.

New utility scale solar skyrockets to 36GW, up ~150% compared to past 12 months.

Batteries add 12.3GW, up from 5.4GW.

Onshore wind adds 6.6GW & Offshore wind 2.1GW

Joe Biden and Democrats are taking climate action! Will Americans choose progress or denialism this fall?

Because of Democratic policies, total fossil fuel capacity (coal, gas, oil etc) falls 2.68 GW as retirements exceed new additions. No coal is added, and 2.59 GW is retired in next 12 months. Gas nearly has as many retirements as new additions, with a net increase of just 358 MW.
