Why we can't have nice cities:

Here's someone who works at a downtown hotel: "I live in Dogpatch, and I usually drive to work."

It's two miles. 11 minutes by car. But 16 minutes by transit or by bicycle. And Google says it's a 48 minute walk, though it wouldn't take me that long.

Why do they drive to work? Probably because they get free parking at the hotel. And it saves them... 5 minutes

cazabon,

@nwchapman

Why do people think they know what someone else should be doing (#transit-wise or other) better than that #person, who they've never #met?

Maybe they #drive because they have #mobility #issues that make using a #bus difficult.

Maybe they drive because after work they go somewhere that isn't within walking/bicycling distance.

Maybe because part of their route would be #unsafe (traffic, whatever) on a #bike or on foot.

Maybe they have long COVID and tire easily.

Stop #judging.
