@Renata We were in Spain for a week. We went to Extremadura... it is really an unusual place. Thousand year old Moorish alcazars still standing, beautiful countryside, flowers and olive trees
@theleavingyear just Googled “alcazars”. Looks really beautiful! I love old buildings. I visited a couple of them near Maceió (Brazil) last week. I’m looking forward to visiting Spain one day.
@Renata I guess I should have written alcazares (Spanish plural). The word is Moorish in origin, which reminds me of the Moors long history in Spain. 800 years of Al-Andaluz (think that's right). That region is also full of Roman sites that are intact, such as the amphitheater in Merida. The whole place is a living museum. I love Brasil, too. I spent a year there as an exchange student.
@theleavingyear Brazil is beautiful. There are many amazing places here! I think foreigners usually want to come to either São Paulo or Rio, but there’s so much more you can explore. I’d love to visit a place like the one you described. I love living museums.
@Renata The Brasilians were wonderful. I was there a long time ago. The military was still in control... it was an amazing experience. I did travel from Sao Paolo to Rio and North to Brasilia. I was in awe...
@Renata Visiting my company's office for the first time in three months (we've been working remotely for three years), there's a company party in the evening with some of the brass present. Doing some light review at the moment, earlier I did some website LQA. ;-) #Translation
@Renata I can go to the office whenever I want, but since due to the pandemic all of my team work remotely (and half of them are based outside the city where the office is), we decided there's no point. So we meet occasionally. 🙂
