@cordillera Mastodon only. I miss specific Twitter fantasy baseball content but not enough to install it on my phone. No one has sent a Bluesky invite my way or I would check that out. Mastodon is fine for politics.
@cordillera i managed to convince enough friends to join masto that i can use this for the good bits of twitter. its definitely different of course but i dont miss twitter that much. the one thing is i dont have a fucks clue what people are talking about when they reference the latest stupid current event or annoying trend.. i relied on twitter to hear about that. took me ages to realise the mexican alien wasnt just a funny image from 20 years ago
@cordillera Manual posting only. ^_^ These days, I noticed, automated cross-posting is frowned upon. Often assumed to be a bot or adspam.
It's good though, you can monitor each community and see easily what works and what doesn't.
For example, the reach here on the Fediverse is far better than any other non-federated platforms, and that's even without algorithms. The posts and replies are high quality too.
Then of course each also started to developed its own community. Which is challenging if you're new, you have to learn and "mingle".
But when it comes to chat, like Discord, yeah, one is enough. ^_^
I'm under Anything but Xitter. I mostly post here and sometimes cross post to Bluesky, but it's a little rough going since I only have 30 followers there and very little engagement. The drama is also more unhinged than Twitter since the active users are Twitter's most terminally online (see: ACAB Dril drama) 🙄
Unlike some Fedi purists, I don't think Mastodon is the one and only platform. I like the people I've met here but it still can't replace a lot of what I used Twitter for 1/🧵
@cordillera So true! The government and other "official websites" from the #Philippines updates their SNS profiles instead of their official websites.
They haven't realised they're making other platforms richer, and at the same, locking their content hostage to those platforms. So, if they get banned, poof, all their effort and content gone to waste. Worst is, the government "begging" to get their accounts back.
I wonder when will they realise that and fix their mistake. LOL.
@cordillera@youronlyone Or the country where your university provides you a Google Workspace and eLMS to do all your communication on, but your prof and classmates still use Facebook Messenger for group chat!!
@cordillera this is home, but I visit bsky because it is collecting the folks that didn't click with masto. I'm gone from Twitter and have been for a long time.
