@flameeyes, they would also need to separate symbols, so people wouldn't be conflicting when library tree ends up loading both.

@tseitr, apparently (I haven't tested myself). Though I don't think "broken" is the right word here since FWIU it would work just fine if they didn't explicitly block it.

@mgorny I used to think Distro Maintainers' job was to maintain packages. Now I've realized that it's actually to police the terrible decisions of upstreams

@vimproved, I wish we wouldn't have to care. The problem is that we're going to be affected by lots of "urllib3 < 2" deps added to workaround this.

(talking purely from "unbiased" "non-political" distro maintainer perspective, i.e. my personal feelings about the decision aside)
