The doomcrying on business news is so obviously self-serving.
They are trying to wishcast a recession into existence by demanding mass layoffs from profitable companies, prolonging a profitable pandemic, manipulating gas prices or running their own company off a cliff.
"We need to stay on task and we think we'll need to hold policy at restrictive levels for some time, and we need to be prepared to raise rates further if we think that's appropriate," Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell tells reporters after the FOMC raised rates.
