@cory Hiss is good. Voices kicks ass.

Sidenote: I’ve been jamming to Better Lovers’ their singles lately. Have you heard it? It’s fun.

@geffrey oh for sure!

I haven’t, I’ll check them out! I’m kinda picky with grind/powerviolence but I love stuff like Rotten Sound, Fawn Limbs, Nails and Dead in the Dirt (wish they hadn’t broken up). 🤘🏻

@cory this is awesome! Also funny seeing Tom (unintentionally) pointing at the band/stats. 😂

@mike thank you! Hahaha didn't even catch that — I love it 😅

    @starbreaker nice! Mine's pulling from Supabase via Plex webhooks on each build https://coryd.dev/posts/2024/improving-my-self-hosted-scrobbling-implementation/

    @starbreaker that's so cool! Using Supabase pushed me to actually do something with a database rather than forcing JSON key value stores to do something that wouldn't scale — it made more complex queries a fair bit easier too (all time lists, genre inferences and such).

    @starbreaker my watching data is in a database now as well and the GitHub workflow I'm using for books pushes updates to a JSON blob.

    @starbreaker I like that idea quite a lot — I imagine what I'm using is overkill, but the platform itself had a pretty welcoming learning curve for someone like me that lives on the front end. I'd love my own CMS too, but that may be an adventure further down the road. 😅

    @starbreaker yeah, that certainly makes sense — to your point having a JS SDK that made queries so easy to write was a huge help too.

    I wouldn't use JS to write anything resembling a CMS (I don't think) — it’d probably be a case of me forcing myself to learn Laravel or something similar and write some PHP.
