From my first impression of #Mastodon. People here are a lot more welcoming then on #Twitter for new people. Everyone here has welcomed me with open arms. I appreciate that a lot.
@blissfulmun I saw murmurs about threads and yes it has over 10mils users... So you can find people. What you can't do is to choose people you want to follow. You like game for Taiwan? Sorry you don't speak their local language, here your local news about your politics or international celebrities or something. Never experienced myself, but you can't curate your home page and when you can on mastodon or any fediverse services and can speak with kbin or Lemmy or misskey or Akkoma.
@blissfulmun I have many accounts on social media, but only #reddit was my real social media. From there I heard about SMO (Ukraine-Russia war) first and many many little stories about hobbies, life tips and so on. All from my mobile phone via Relay. Last month we learned that they want to extort 3rd party apps so my Relay will go under. You don't want to see Reddit official app with "posts" that are ads and you can advertise your post with $. #redditblackout > #redditmigration and here I am.
