Can anyone recommend me a good Markdown editor? I can't seem to find anything that's based on some web engine, which tends to use its own font rendering.

@hund I either use the Notes feature in or I just use vim.

@mike Okey. :) Neovim is my go-to editor, but I'm trying to be a 'regular' user, and to only use graphical applications.

@hund Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see anybody mention Joplin?

https://joplinapp.org

I used it for a bit, but found it redundant with Notes in Vivaldi, so I stopped. It was a good editor though, open source and with a decent enough GUI. Otherwise, gVIM. Just vim with a GUI.

@mike It looks nice, but I'm not sure that I'm ready for a cloud service. :)

@hund Cloud service is entirely optional. I never used it either.

@mike Oh. Well. I tried it know, but I didn't like that it didn't use the system font rendering. :/

@hund Hm, never noticed. Fair enough.

@mike Perhaps you don't have a decade old 24" 1080p monitor, that's quite picky about what a font should look like. :)

@hund No, I have a 32" 4K monitor. I don't really remember how old it is, but definitely not a decade that's for sure.

@mike You're either compensating for something, or refusing to get a pair of glasses. :D

I feel like my 24" monitor is too big when I'm using a tiling window manager. Now when I'm using a stacking window manager, it's more manageable with smaller windows.

@hund Heh, well since I wear glasses pretty much full time, I guess you have your answer! 😏

I used to have a multimonitor setup so I could keep more than one thing on the screen at a time. I replaced two smaller monitors with one bigger one. Plus, good for gaming.

@mike Okey. :D I bet it's fun to play games on it!

I used to have a triple monitor setup, but I found it to be way too distracting for me and what I do at the computer.

I would like to have a 27" 5k monitor, but they're as common as unicorns..

(5k on a 27" means no fractional scaling)

@kytta @nikitonsky Sublime Text is not open source though. :)
