Gajim was always my favorite xmpp client but I stopped using xmpp years ago... the screenshot looks really awesome. This makes me want to bring back my xmpp server. But is it worth it? I fear that no contacts are left. 😞

Have you tested the XMPP social media apps, Movim and Libervia? The latter is in the process of developing a bridge to the ActivityPub network, and is looking for beta testers willing to stand up XMPP servers:

Kaidan is very old and missing some dependencies to be updated
ConverseJS keeps crashing on my phone (VP22)
Movim doesn't support OMEMO.
At the moment i still have to use blabber in waydroid...
