Since the in , & now , , , a lot of the 'normal' feels completely dystopian. I keep being served from Jet2 to go to Greece, the very company that fucked up the repatriation of its tourists. Now from , the shameless use of on & her daugher, music & longing for family, to sell... . Yeah you say, , still the same lobbies, the same unsustainable push to consumption. 📴

@sheislaurence reading this reminds me: after a bunch of years studying cultural theory and media critique I thought all the ads were ironic...likely is just timing between the conception and transmission of these ads were longer than the news cycle of reality... or it might just mean you aren't the target consumer (until enough of their target consumer starts thinking like you)

@alkatandan I keep thinking of the closing scene of 'Don't Look Up', where Jonah Hill is still trying to livestream to a dead world. It seems advertisers are as tonedeaf. I am not sure I am in the minority anymore. Here in the UK, talking about the weather has been a national sport forever, and now when i overhear smalltalk about the weather, summer etc, EVERYONE talks about the fires, how dark it is in the UK but maybe it's better to stay put. All classes, ages. Quite remarkable. #climatediary
