@serpicojam Since the DH is everywhere now, I have trouble thinking of #MLB as two discrete leagues anymore. It feels more like conferences, or something, of the same large league.
@davewordnerd@serpicojam it ceased to be meaningful long before the universal DH. Once the world series ceased to be a contest between the regular season winner of each league, the two leagues were just divisions or conferences of a single entity.
Yesterday was the first time I comprehended baseball like we do the NFL, the NBA, and the NHL . . . that's how deeply rooted my conception of AL vs NL — established when I was a kid in the 70s — actually was.
