Apple has come under fire because its iPad Pro “Crush” ad depicts the destruction of items used by artists. Now folks are saying it's unoriginal too. X user Andy Allen pointed out that it bears a striking resemblance to a 2008 commercial for LG's Renoir KC910. Here's more from @9to5Mac.

Update: Apple has apologized for the "Crush" ad, saying it "missed the mark," and scrapped plans for a TV campaign. @9to5Mac has the details.

@CultureDesk @9to5Mac Listen to the whole song, or at least go to the 4:15 mark. No electronics could produce this. Ever. https://youtu.be/h-0gm9fxOOk?si=PuthnRGW2SJTw29e

@CultureDesk @9to5Mac meh the ad wasn't that bad. But pretty funny that it's been done before. Apple is starting to lose their edge in marketing and has been for a while.

@bhhaskin Some online folk seem to be suggesting that rather than copying the LG ad, the whole idea was so banal that it's unsurprising multiple brands would happen upon it. In any case, Apple has apologized and pulled the campaign as a result of the brouhaha.
