It's one of the very few things I refuse to do, mostly because of the mess, although I stopped eating mash for decades because of a childhood trauma incident involving an angry and unwilling to cook mother who was unimpressed with mashing.

@Greenseer@MostlyTato It was only when I lived in Italy that I got to like them. I think I may have been bamboozled by people who know how to cook with them properly and a creeping middle-class pretension when I got back 😆
@Greenseer@MostlyTato Right?? Consider how I felt, after most of a decade in the Med, with pretty much guaranteed sunshine for 300 days a year, and (at least in most of the places I lived) zero pollution, coming back to London in October 😫
@Greenseer@MostlyTato Tbh, D, I don't think I ever have fully recovered! Return was a necessity then circumstances made it impossible to leave, then Brexit.
