I hope kids doing scout activities take what lessons are good + leave the rest.
I love to see Black US folks patch up those places where we were torn from nature. It's understandable that between the trauma of racist white folk not letting us explore + scars of farming under slavery, Jim Crow era, then Great Migration into cities has left some ambivalence +scorn about "the country"

@dragfyre the photographer is unknown, but I found the photo in the Houston library database

It was donated to the library by someone named “Helen Perry”
