Pikes Peak has had a unusual amount of snow this year, and a month ago was sitting at over 190% of normal snowpack. Not my department, but perhaps there are some intrepid skiers out there noticing a rare line of snow from the top to treeline on the east side of the peak. This is the side that faces Colorado Springs, you can always check out the conditions up at 14,000 feet while you drive to the grocery store or whatever. My guess is things could be a wee bit sketchy on snow that freezes and thaws every day, but that’s why skis have edges, right? Photo from today taken at the most popular Garden of the Gods & Pikes Peak overlook. #coloradosprings #pikespeak #skipikespeak #colorado
