I have to wait a couple weeks for an adapter for the odd eMMC module to get shipped from AliExpress.

They just didn't have apt set up to not update the kernel, I think. Not sure.

You should be able to boot up from a thumb drive, but I haven't been successful at that yet.

I've ordered an adapter for makerbase's odd eMMC module (I already have an eMMC adapter, but this has a pin connector, rather than one of those high-density mobile-style connectors) so that I can re-flash the whole thing.

Also going to try the USB-C serial port trick later.
