Thanks a lot for your reply, learned a lot of things!

In Fedora /usr/bin/firefox also is a bash script so I ran into the same not a dynamic executable issue as well. readelf looks interesting, I'll have to play around with it.

Violentmonkey, an opensource alternative for Tampermonkey

Since Greasemonkey is no longer being updated and /kbinStyles has been thriving, with people creating a lot of userscript for added functionality, I thought I should introduce Violentmonkey here. It is a really good opensource alternative for Tampermonkey and works well....

One of the things I used violentmonkey for was to redirect any reddit url to the old reddit.

Example

// ==UserScript==
// @name        Old reddit redirect
// @namespace   Violentmonkey Scripts
// @match       https://www.reddit.com/*
// @grant       none
// @version     1.0
// @author      -
// @description 10/8/2022, 8:20:18 PM
// ==/UserScript==

var str = window.location.href;
window.location.replace(str.replace("www.reddit.com", "old.reddit.com"));

Only one episode to go. Now that they've confirmed that the immortality macguffin doesn't exist how will Gabimaru return to his wife?

It was pretty interesting that Yuzuriha ninjutsu does involve the use of Tao. I wonder if that means Gabimaru's fire is also an application of Tao?

Wonder who else will start using Tao. Shion probably already has some proficiency in Tao.

What ever happened to initiatives such as project Treble? Do you guys think updates have gotten better on Android?

I remember when I used to be excited about Android OS updates and kept watching videos about new features (that I was not gonna get anytime soon because I was stuck in an old version of Android)... It's been years since I've been excited about an Android update.

Little side note rant:
My biggest annoyance with Android is the share menu. I hate how it's different for different apps (Firefox is vastly different from other apps for instance). I can notice at least 3 different sharing menus with the apps I frequently use. Makes it hard to build muscle memory.... And I cannot pin the apps I actually use frequently for sharing stuff. Also the direct share thing never worked for me. I think it's only for sharing via SMS or Email neither of which I use for sharing content, so it ended up being just a waste of space for me.

Hope they fix the share menu one day..... But then I'd have to wait to change my phone to get the updates.

Do you guys remember Ndiswrapper? For when you had to use Windows drivers for your wireless card... Wonder if it's still used.

How did you get into anime?

Although my first anime was back during early childhood (back when anime programme block was a regular thing in Indonesian television). Vulcan just really started following anime seriously during junior high school back in 2012 (classmates are into Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online during that time, and we often chatted about...

As a kid I was first introduced to anime by watching DBZ and Hunter X Hunter (1999 edition) on TV. But I didn't consider it anime at the time, I thought of them as cartoons as they were being played dubbed in my native language.

Once upon a time in a LAN party I gave some videos to a guy via SMB shares and as a thank you he gave me the first season of Naruto in Japanese with subtitles... That's when I found out the term Anime which helped me search for Anime streaming websites. Several years later I've watched over hundreds of anime and I'm a pretty much an Isekai junkie. It can be generic as heck yet I still consume it, though lately I've been growing kinda tired and I've transitioned to reading Manwha instead (Tower of God was my gateway).

Fruits Basket is a very interesting introduction to anime! It was a very fun watch. Didn't know there was a 2001 version. Do you like romance anime? Any favorites in that genre for you? For me I think Kimi ni Todoke, Golden Time, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, etc. There are a looot of great ones in the genre.

There are definitely a lot of themes I wish weren't present in Anime. The 'brother loving' that's borderline sweet home Alabama is one of the hardest to tolerate. Even though Chivalry of a Failed Knight is one of my favorites... The introduction of the sister by lip kissing was so awkward to watch... There's no way I'm watching that show with somebody else. The Irregular at Magic High School is another one that's good, but there's no way in hell I would recommend it to anybody I know.

What really blew my mind was seeing comments that somebody made from Mastodon.social on Lemmy. It's like seeing a comment from a Twitter account on Reddit. It's so crazy!

But the most cool thing I've seen in the Fediverse was some guy's blog that implemented comments via Fediverse instead of Disqus. So people could comment on that guy's blog by using their Mastodon/Kbin/Lemmy/etc accounts. That's insanely cool!

Chivalry of a Failed Knight, The Asterisk War[1], Disastrous Life of Saiki, Eminence in Shadow, World Break, Hunter X Hunter as well[2], Overlord, Redo of Healer, Reincarnated as a Slime, Re Zero, and a couple more.

[1]: Isn't it funny how Chilvary and Asterisk came out on the same season and how they're so goddamn similar? When I first watched them I actually had a hard time telling which was which and it confused the heck out of me.

[2]: I liked the 1999 version a lot. It was a lot more 'dark' in my opinion. Or at least, due to music or whatnot, it felt that way. I wish the manga at least manages to finish the new continent arc, it goes on Hiatus a lot :(. I think it's one of the anime with the most interesting power system. <spoiler>The end kinda made me feel sad for Killua :(, Gon was a bit of a jerk </spoiler>

It's so sad that the Author died and we never got to explore more of School of the Dead.

Pain arc is top Naruto for me, really like those episodes and the Arcs near it (sasuke vs itachi), Shikamaru vs religious guy, etc. Good stuff!

The OST for Code Geass is one of my favorites. It's so good.

Wish this show had gotten 20+ episodes. It's way too short as is, at least for how it is paced. I'll probably leave me wanting more, but we won't get more anytime soon I guess... And when that much time passes I kinda start losing interest.

Even if did get a season 2, there's the risk of it being produced by another studio with a different team... There's a lot of anime that have done that and I've ended up hating the second season despite loving the first...... Like with One Punch and Shield Hero.

Personally, I think 12 episodes is way too little for a lot of animes to develop satisfactorily.
