Okama crater on Mount Zao on the border of Miyagi and Yamagata prefecture, Japan. The crater was formed by an eruption in the 1720s, filling with water to form the lake inside it. It's 325 meters wide in diameter with a maximum depth of 27.6 meters.

The former Rikuzentakata youth hostel. Rikuzentakata in Iwate prefecture was almost completely destroyed by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. The remains of the youth hostel now sits on the the grounds of the Takatamatsubaru Memorial Park, where the very impressive Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum is located.
