@9to5linux So I have deleted Google as my search engine and now Firefox is going to opt me into connecting to Google again? It is one thing to set Google as the default search that is easliy changed. It is another thing entirely to have built in code to specifically connect to and query Google when I go to my url bar. I build my own nighly on Linux and did not know about this. Now I have to scour my settings every time I update the source for my next build. I am very disappointed with this.

Any of my peoples want to try this extension? Same guy that made it for Chrome with my sounds in. This apparently works without fuss, but I don't use firefox so can't prove it. https://github.com/LordLuceus/chrome-ui-sounds/

Edit: This is now a signed firefox addon and works when clicking the below link without any fuss at all. I have now tested this myself: https://onj.me/browser-ui-sounds.xpi

@Bri @FreakyFwoof I had that happen to me on one of my profiles. When I installed it a second time everything was fine. The code is so simple I can't figure why only one sound would work in some cases. Did you try to close and reopen all instanced of your browser and try again?

@Bri @FreakyFwoof I did put in a small bit of code to stop multiple sounds from happening on a single change. E.g., it would skip the tab change sound after a close tab sound. I am happy to get it working better and/or as expected. I am actually adding the options for the other sound from the original extension and potentially adding custom sounds.

@Bri @FreakyFwoof I have put the source code I used to build the extension on github. The only difference is new temporary icons, since there is no license on the original repository.

@FreakyFwoof @Bri I have a new version that adds the other (Nostromo) sound and fixes an issue with sounds sometimes not playing when the tabs are switched. It also allows you to use your own sounds as long as they are available through a URL an option to speak the name of the tab upon focus.

So far I have not run into any issues but of course every system is a little different. I will be creating a github repo for it soon to track issues.
