I need your help, compiling a top ten list. What are your Top Good Reasons a Manager in Organization needs influence:

  1. To remove impediments;

  2. To bring about larger scale change i.e. cross group or department

Good Answers only today. Evil reasons will come tomorrow

scrumschau,
@scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

@mlevison

Number 1 (?): because it is her/his job to collaborate

More reasons: a good decision needs information from different point of views. The people who works directly on the product/with customers knows often a lot.

maybe another word for "influence" could help to answer this question too: f.e. "consulting", "discussions", "4 eyes talks" etc

Working software doesn't equate necessarily to creating value.

And therein lies the fundamental flaw of the manifesto. It isn't wrong. Moreso, it merely represents the best thinking of the time it was created. The biggest problem to solve at that point in time was delivery of software projects.

Now that problem is mostly solved, creating value should be our primary measure of progress today.

scrumschau,
@scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

@qrquartel
Not working software does not deliver any value for sure!

That is the idea behind this principle.

If it is broken, fix it first before doing an other work on it.

The principle does not say that working software is the only one measure. But it is the primary.

As Google becomes useless and LLMs regurgitate drivel, I'm looking for Independant minded Blogs. I'm trying to curate a set of trusted sources that I can recommend to students.

Examples of what I want: https://dannorth.net/blog/, https://simplybegin.co.uk/blog/, https://medium.com/the-liberators

Please boost for reach - my current list follows.

I am sorry to say that I have seen some good working agile teams.

Why should releasing often be just theory? Why should hearing the voice of users be just theory? Or what part of Agile is -from your point of view - just theory and never (good) implemented?

scrumschau,
@scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

@hengymrohebwlad @starbreaker @danjac

Then do something else ;) What holds you back? Is it Agile or Agile theory?

Developer could leave companies that work in a way they do not like. It is possible in this economy. Steal the companies who work as you wish. Found new companies that work as you wish.

Yeah I see your point what you mean: It is terrible that working with other people mean that there are a lot of different goals and ideas how to work. That is a pitty. But is it Agile fault?

scrumschau,
@scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

@hengymrohebwlad @danjac @starbreaker

SAFe is not Scrum. Scrum is not SAFe. SAFe took some terms from Scrum.
And to be honest: SAFe is just Agile in its name. SAFe is just a very thick handbook of a lot of good things and mixed it up.

Which certification factories (*) do you see out there?

(*) commercial organisations whose purpose has become to sustain the primary income source of certified trainers who would not otherwise sell training classes without the certification. And whose primary purpose has shifted away from knowledge sharing, fulfilling education and learning needs of its professional community and and doing good by it

scrumschau,

Yes, it is the Scaled Agile Inc, that is offering the bunch of "certificates" around

Ich muss grad für eine #Scrum-Schulung morgen den Scrumguide lesen und "Sprint Planning is timeboxed to a maximum of eight hours for a one-month Sprint. For shorter Sprints, the event is usually shorter.“

Meine Entwickler würden mir aufs Dach steigen verständlicherweise.

scrumschau,
@scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

@Kurorori @nomaster

    Hello, Collective Hive Mind. I could use some direction. I have been using Blogspot for over ten years, but it does not have fediverse integration. I understand that Wordpress is going to accomplish this.

    So, what do I need to do to make the switch and move over all my old content? I am a little spooked by this process.

    Please reach out to me and provide me with direction and moral support.

    is a framework that describes the basics (what) but not how to do it.

    How to learn how to do it?
    Ask your(!) team. Inspect and adapt. Make experiments. There will not be any golden rule or easy way.

    scrumschau,
    @scrumschau@mastodon.social avatar

    @kerfuffle

    Some first thoughts IMHO:
    Do a Retrospektictive about this topic with the entire team (incl. PO!).
    Discuss who is responsible for what.
    Learn how to use your tools (f.e. Jira&Co has the function to add labels to each Product Backlog Item).

    Plus:
    Ask other teams, PO, SM around your team. Maybe they will have good ideas.

    Warum es jetzt unbedingt statt Mastodon sein muss.... Vielleicht wurde auch hier ein Trend verpasst. Schade.
