#ListenBrainz users! We are tweaking Fresh Releases.

Was: New releases from artists you listened to in the last month
Now testing: New releases from all artists in your lifetime history, filtering out any with <10 listens

Feedback wanted ❤️

rvansleen,

@metabrainz Looks neat! Feedback:

  • what is the range filter supposed to do?
  • on my first visit, the Types filter wasn't shown. It did when I changed the Range filter.
  • Releases shown from Special Purpose Artists feels a bit silly. ;)
rvansleen,

@metabrainz I've added a vote to the first issue and a comment about the SPA's. :) I'll see if I can recreate the missing filter issue. If so, I'll add a ticket.

rvansleen,

@koen
Juist.

I don't understand why most syntax highlighting themes style comments in some unimportant barely-visible gray. If comments weren't important, I wouldn't be writing them! :blobcatreeeeeee:

rvansleen,

@ayo Wait, what? You write comments? At your own code?

Open source contributors: how important is it to you that your employer evidently "gets" open source? Think of things such as:

  • open source author rights and licenses being acknowledged in employment contracts and the code of conduct
  • the company being party to corporate CLAs for open source projects it uses
  • FOSS sponsorship budgets
  • the legal team having quick turnaround for individual CLA approval

How much of a draw would such things be if you were interviewing?

(Boosts appreciated.)

rvansleen,

@xahteiwi I once worked at a company that heavily leaned on open source. But everything that was build was kept in-house and/or from scratch. That bothers me so much more nowadays. It would have made a lot more sense to build the stuff on existing OSS and contribute back.

What is your favourite #fdroid app? Would be interested if I can discover a few new cool apps, I missed until now. Thank you already for sharing! @fdroid

rvansleen,

@kirschner @fdroid Unciv. There are other apps of course, but that one is my most favorite.
