@release_candidate@bsd.cafe

I'm not a developer. I'm not a sysadmin. DevOps is not a role.

Yet my job consists in ignoring those three facts.

Developers: Hey rc! CI is not working any more. We need to change these configs.

Me: Oh, that thing is still not in a git repo. I'll make a backup, because if we screw this we'll have to recreate it from scratch. Some idiot will make me recreate it, I'm sure. Better have a backup, and tomorrow I will create a proper git repo, with Ansible and stuff.

Developers: Hey rc, we changed our minds about the configs, can we revert?

Me: Sure, we have backups.

Me: **Accidentally deletes the backup instead of the new thing.

Me: I knew some idiot were about to screw this up.

I wrote about my adventures with remix and its self-destructing file system.

@bentsukun I find a lot of hype around btrfs, without the quality to actually support the claims.

For Linux systems I usually prefer LVM+ext4 and you have all those fancy features, including RAID.

From time to time I read about someone having trouble with btrfs and saying that the unstable days are not over.

It's a shame that new Fedora installer doesn't let you choose fs.

If sudo is too bloat, distros have only one option.

Not using doas and give yet another responsibility.

All Linux problems are solved with moar systemd.

Lol

Guess who's the "most popular" person in the Fediverse.

@cuddle Yeah, that's the joke.

I'm thinking about creating my own fedi instance with 100M accounts following me.

You know, a la Zuck.

It was surprisingly easy!
Most of the desktop tools that I use were included as packages.

I used and reused my dotfiles.

My dotfiles were almost enough. Weirdly didn't like the TOML config file format. Had to use YAML.

Fonts, icons, etc have almost the same names as in Arch. Emoji fonts worked! I honestly didn't expect the emoji fonts working lol

The only thing that I miss is . What is the alternative for NetworkManager?
