Sooo glad I shall be in Italy for the . No need to make strenuous efforts to avoid all the obsequious coverage and breathless attention to ritual. I might celebrate by going round one of the now-redundant palaces of the ex Royal House of Savoy. in its rightful place - a museum.

I really like the feature in Raspberry Pi Imager that lets you set up a headless machine with SSH keys, username/password, and WiFi, so you don't have to plug it into anything but power.

I've managed to fully charge pretty much all the batteries in the house with my MacGyver-esqe indoor solar power setup, so I guess I should find a couple of Raspberry Pi projects to avoid wasting the sunlight.

Current charge controllers don't seem to want to provide the 5V 3A the Pi 4 wants, so will have to try with Pi3 (maybe CM4?), or find a better charge controller.

After much fiddling, I've managed to find a charge-controller/USB cable combination that will power my Pi 4 with SSD without throttling from under-voltage. Definitely progress.
