On the plus side, Liz Truss is not a myopically selfish self-centred hyopcrite. It's amazing listening to her today, though: she clearly a fantasist. Nor is she a credible leader of people. We seem to be ending up with some worryingly unsuitable human beings as PM.

From reviewing the discourse around issues raised by @nikclayton, I feel it is comfortably past the threshold of certainty that the folks with responsibility for the stewardship of , a very good Android Fediverse client, are not fit to perform this role. Improvements in the stewardship of the project are necessary if they want people to support the project in confidence; it is clear enough to me that the current folks are not the people to be making them. So I'll support something else.

I am stepping back from the #Tusky project with immediate effect.

I discovered severe lapses in how the Tusky project's donations (received via #OpenCollective) were being handled. When I reported those to the project's private "Tusky Contributors" Matrix channel the financial admins tone policed the feedback, refused to engage with the concerns I and others raised, and demanded the discussion be stopped.

  • the diligence around your investigation
  • trying to address your findings in a collaborative spirit, with no inference of blame or malicious intent
  • communicating everything very clearly
  • not directing anyone to act, but encouraging people to make their own minds up
