Seriously considering stopping drinking

I don’t even drink that much, or that often. And I’m not even hung over right now or, like, regretting anything. I just know that it’s seriously hindering my health and fitness.
It’s just a little hard when booze is such a ubiquitous social drug. It’s reliable and available at almost any party

I’ve been talking to this guy, we’ve been hitting it off pretty well — he doesn’t drink at all. Never has. I feel like I could quit the stuff too

Furality was really fun tonight.

Definitely was feeling a lot of the usual kinda drinky party energy, but there was a purpose and direction to it which was nice.

I went to the bat meetup (and got tons of comments on my wing stars 💛) and it was cool to have a bunch of people kinda socially lubricated and admiring each other’s avatars.

I think tomorrow I’m gonna try and hop on early and make some sober friends in the normal Furality world before getting rowdy later on.
I’m also thinking of setting up one of Venaul’s wolf bases for my werewolf sona to have something shiny and a little on the bigger side than my bat or yeen, but not quite as big as my dragon

This car dealership I’ve been courting has been jerking me around all week, I feel.

After multiple cars I’ve been interested in have suddenly not worked out for one reason or another, the car that was definitely totally absolutely going to work out for pickup today ended up having the dealership ghost me and the salesperson I was talking to tell me that they’re off and can’t help me with any questions.

I think I might just skip on this dealership and find another local one

Thankfully the onsite tomorrow was put off until Tuesday — not for me, but because the client couldn’t get their organization together.

I’m still on the hook for a 14 hour day next week with way too much work on my plate to complete while I’m there.

Boy if I had another offer lined up I’d quit.

Got in to the office today to have a huge mess dumped in my lap — a firewall, three switches, a smart UPS, two laptops, and another firewall that all need to be configured and ready to go for tomorrow so I can leave at 6AM and spend a day onsite at a new client’s who’s already cranky about any downtime and is really not okay with an 8 hour day/maintenance window for me to install a whole new rack of gear and onboard their entire fleet to our RMM.

I was incensed. Wrote up a big message in very kind words to my bosses today about how I’m feeling overworked and taken advantage of, and how this is way too much work to dump on my plate, that this is a pattern of organizational behaviour that I’m not okay with.

The owner of the company privately mentions me, tells me he’s “advocating” for me and that I’m heard and the issues are being addressed, but that he’s not my manager and that my direct manager will contact me after his meeting…

Got a surprise call from my dad this morning right after I got back from the gym at like 7AM; he just wanted to talk about stuff — the new used mountain bike he got, how his work was going, how my work was going, etc.

He told me he listened to my latest DJ set, and that he “liked it but [my] previous one is his favorite”, and how he listens to them a lot while he’s driving around. He said it’s really cool that I have a creative hobby that I enjoy, and that he’s proud of me.

I love that man so much

My idiot dumb idiot ass has been having issues with some smart plugs not updating their power status for WEEKS!

Today I finally capitulated and installed the stupid app from their manufacturer instead of just using HomeKit to control them.

They all had pending firmware updates and now work fine.
