No, actually nationalism in Europe is like “let’s hate our neighbors instead of the bourgeois in our country. They speak a silly language”. That’s what mobilized soldiers into the first world war.

It is a thought terminating cliche to say “Nothing is perfect so everything is the same.” No, there are big gradual differences between systems and it does matter which is in place.
But I don’t think I will convince you and I don’t think I will continue this conversation.
Tbf the important question is: assuming that backwards time travel is possible, will people attempt to the party. And there I would say, unlikely. And while I think backwards time travel is very implausible, the experiment itself proves nothing
I still do not believe in time travel so I think the most plausible thing is there is no time travel. But assuming time travel was possible, there would still be no one on the party. This doesn’t prove it but neither do I need any proof
According to that logic, there is nothing paranormal with a “magic wand” because “wand” goes back to proto-Germanic *wend- “to turn”, just like “wind” does. Nothing special about it. People should be able to connect the dots here.
