What kind of idiot taunts process servers on social media? Did Rudy think that, just because his boss has the same complexion as the Gingerbread Man, that he'd be able to dodge them forever?

Is it just me, or would Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire have worked better as something like a TV series on Netflix or Amazon Prime? Something to just allow for a little extra character development and on-screen ghost catching.

Honestly, it feels like a TV series would be better for the franchise as a whole, going forward. Let us have some episodic stories to develop the characters and the world, while building up a threat in the background over the course of the season, Dr. Who style.

So it looks like Cumberland City Council is going to overturn that stupid book ban. As expected, it seems it only passed because council members who would've voted against it weren't present for the initial vote.

The amount of web crawlers right now which just blatantly ignore robots.txt is frustrating. It's pretty clear many of these are just scraping every single website they can to train generative text AI as well.

If nothing else, there's surely got to be some clear violation of a whole lot of CC licenses from this behaviour.

Hospital had a cancellation, so they're going to be able to fit in my appointment with the specialist later this week! Hopefully won't be too long now until I can get this surgery.

Sometimes, these student responses really state the bleeding obvious.

In response to a question regarding a road safety campaign, part of the student's answer stated that:
"Most people do not want to be run over."

So my plan with my current #VPN provider expires soon and I’m thinking of moving to #Proton. I like the idea of getting, as part of the plan, extras such as Proton mail - get some control and #privacy over my email accounts (away from Gmail). However, I am a little worried that if I create multiple email addresses I essentially lock myself into Proton’s paid plan… Losing email addresses would be an unnecessary nightmare to manage 🤔
Has anyone else switched to Proton to manage their VPN & emails?

liampomfret,
@liampomfret@mastodon.social avatar

@lwpembleton I use Proton Mail, but have intentionally kept my VPN separate, using Mullvad.

An easy way to avoid a lock-in with Proton would be to register a custom domain using some cheap provider, and set up emails on that domain on Proton. Then, if you ever need to move, you just set the custom domain up on your new provider.

@lwpembleton A little of column A and a little of column B. It’s possible to have an entirely anonymous account with Mullvad, buying code cards instead of paying them directly for an account, which I don’t think any other VPN offers. Does mean there’s no possible account recovery if you lose your login though.

Ireland was 6th in the jury vote, 6th in the public vote, and 6th overall. I think the witch has been well and truly crowned. .

Kind of ironic in the context of all the controversies around the contest this year that the winners would be the neutral country. Still, a well deserved win.

It doesn’t feel like there’s been enough fire on stage this year. Maybe Georgia just used so much that there wasn’t enough budget for more pyro.

Interesting idea, using the lace doilies as mufflers for the drum kit so they can appear to play without breaking the rules of those instruments just being props.

Once again, I am reminded that under current Eurovision rules, all instruments on stage are props, and any dancing around while “playing” is thus a lot less impressive than it looks.
