Good morning!

It was another humid and sticky day for my early-morning walk, this time 10 degrees warmer. I felt like I was breathing water by the end of it.

When I walked past the pond, to my surprise I could see two large koi in the water. There have never been koi in the pond before. I wonder who put them there?

It's going to be hot and sticky until we get the next thunderstorm this afternoon. I'll be indoors with my AC if you need me.

Good morning!

Another beautiful day for my early-morning walk. The goslings are now adolescent geese, but still obeying the adults, who hurried them along the path and away from me as I walked by.

Yesterday after coming back from the dentist I did nothing except lie around and read all day, so today I have chores to catch up on and writing to do. It's going to get hot and humid as the day goes on, so I'm happy to stay indoors in the AC.

I'm hoping for a good day today once I get past the dental appointment this morning. It's just a cleaning, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Otherwise, another day of writing, reading, chores, cuddling Annie-the-Cat. My routine is a comfortable one, if somewhat boring.

Good morning!

Today has begun much better than yesterday did, with a cool and sunny walk outside. A few of my daisies have bloomed, but the majority of the hundred or so flowers are still to come. Daisies are one of my favorite flowers and I look forward to the blooms every year.

I have no big plans for the day, just writing some, reading some, doing a few chores.

Good morning!

Today was almost chilly for my early-morning walk, but we're heading up into the 70s so I won't complain.

Today will be yet another day of writing and chores. If my sister feels well enough, she may call me this afternoon to let me know how she and her family are faring with covid. I told her she should call only if she feels up to it. I know most people these days get over it without too much problem, but it's still a dangerous disease for the elderly and those with immune system problems, so I worry.

Good morning!

Another cool and sunny morning for my walk, another day to concentrate on my writing.

Unfortunately, today I learned that my sister and her husband have covid. Both are elderly and immunosuppressed, my sister because of medications, my brother-in-law because he is undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer. Both are vaccinated, but I'm uncertain whether or not they got the most recent shot.

Fingers crossed that they have very mild cases. Thoughts and prayers welcome.

Good morning!

It's cool and sunny outside this morning, perfect for my early-morning walk. The flowers I bought are blooming nicely and the daisies that come back every year are getting ready to bloom, probably in a week or so.

Today will be a day of laundry and writing. There's a scene I need to write that I'm kind of dreading -- an angry argument between two men. All that negative emotion tends to get me upset as I write. But it needs to be done. When I've finished it, I will be happier.

Good morning!

I was awakened at around 4 a.m. by large raindrops splatting against my window. This settled down into a short rain shower, but apparently enough to finally wash the pollen off my car. It no longer looks like a bumblebee, with yellow on the top and black underneath.

Later on, we're supposed to have heavy thunderstorms, and the word "tornado" was mentioned as possible. Most likely we won't have one of those. Yet I am increasingly unsettled by the fact that the weather app I use now lists how many people in the US died from weather-related incidents every day. Climate change is getting more and more frightening.

Good morning!

It's another brunch Saturday so as usual I skipped my early-morning walk so I won't be in so much pain sitting in the restaurant. Maybe today we will sit outside -- it's a sunny day and should be in the 70s or low 80s by brunchtime.

Then I will probably take the afternoon off from writing and relax for the rest of the day.

Good morning!

Another day, another early-morning walk. The summer walkers have come out now, so instead of just waving at my neighbor Ron, who like me walked all winter, I feel like I'm saying "Good morning" every few steps. Most of them won't last for more than a week or so.

Today I'll go to the grocery store and pharmacy and then write and do some chores. Once upon a time I lived an exciting life, but no more. I kind of like it this way.

Good morning!

I'm skipping my early-morning walk today because I have an early-morning doctor's appointment instead. I'm meeting a new primary care physician since my last one quit the profession after I'd seen her only once. And the one before then quit the practice after I'd seen her for a couple of years.

Do you think it's me?

A lot of doctors in the US are quitting, partly from burnout after covid, but mostly, I think, because of the way they are hamstrung by the insurance companies dictating how they are allowed to do their jobs: what treatments patients are allowed to have, what medications, etc. It must be incredibly frustrating.

Anyway, I'll be heading out soon, then come back to a nice day and more writing.
