So this ink was very meh for me.

Lamy Violet Blackberry

As you can see on the swatch card, it’s purple. And it has good flow to it.

On the Hobonichi paper, it’s dark purple if you squint. Camera couldn’t get it, but it’s like a very matte dark purple.

I guess sort of like the actual blackberry.
And less controversial than its cousin Dark Lilac.

Good thing I just got a pack of cartridges to try instead of a bottle!

#npd Today’s new #fountainpen is the BENU Matcha Latte Euphoria (Goulet exclusive). I love this color so much! All my Euphorias have Pilot Parallel pen (broad edge calligraphy) nibs in them at the moment, so this gusher B nib actually is quite reasonable by comparison. I have it inked with Sailor ink studio 280.

@Mi_Mo hmmm so you can put a pilot nib in them… I have ideas. benu is on my list to try but they are all so pretty I cannot decide.

I’m leaning towards love story, ocean breeze, or scent of irises because they glow in the dark.

@paradoxmo oh yes and this was the most coherent-looking one in the pile. The color and clips on some of them were very…. Unique.
There was one that was a blue scrub top on bright orange pen.

We are back on project needlepoint:

I ended up getting another Konrad Noodler because I lost mine, put the esterbrook needlepoint nib, and we are looking lovely now. The Konrad is also super comfy for me personally.

I really think the skipping issue was the Conklin because that pen has had the same issue with 3 nibs and 2 feeds.

alright, so you in fact cannot put an Esterbrook needlepoint on a nahvalur.

the cap does not have enough space and will absolutely bend your new nib to all hell and back.

@paradoxmo I've straightened it out and I have it on a Conklin currently and its working ...

except I think it's getting a clog here and there. the feed on that pen has always been iffy so I can't tell if it's the nib or the feed.

@paradoxmo i think i will end up getting a different body for it anyway. The Conklin isn’t the most comfortable to write with for me.

I don’t have a loupe, i just kind of used feel to see if it was okay. I think the right tine is still slightly off, I need to find my teensy pliers to try to work with it.

Here’s another one: Queen Allium. It’s pretty well-behaved for all the shimmer, but you definitely need a medium nib or larger.

Happy swatch day! This is one of the better FWP inks imo, writes pretty smooth with just a light about of shimmer. A nice red-brown.

Has anyone had any experience with the Esterbrook special nibs? And can you get the nib and just stick it on a different pen of a similar size nib? I’m interested in the techo, needlepoint, and journaler ones.

I was thinking maybe the nahvalur original one might be good?

it would be part of my EDC but I decided to order a broad to try. I like the way it feels in the hand, but the nib really only works for me when I'm doing drawings.

it actually fits decently in the pen loop on my work traveler's notebook. it says on their website #6 but not jowo specifically.

@paradoxmo I’ve not had issues carrying them like that in my bag. Caps stay on pretty sturdy.
