So finally: I don’t have an x account anymore. Even didn’t have to delete myself. After 15 years they simply kicked me out. Official reason: impersonation.
I guess I was too much myself.

So goodbye for good.
Only feel sad for the few people left there. Will try to reach them otherwise.

@bit101 It feels weird. Some idiot algorithm deciding that I cannot interact anymore with friends/acquaintances.
I think I will not even try to appeal. Why would I even talk to their robot.
I will try to remember the good contacts I had there, but will now concentrate on Mastodon and the better web. ;-)

@julien Maybe. I am still logged in, but everything is gone.

They ask me to send an ID or driver license.
I won't do that. I have been there 15 years. They have my mail, my phone number and all the data they have from me since 2009.
They have plenty to identify me.

For sending invitations of my upcoming exhibition, I ditched mailchimp. And replaced it by… nothing.
I use simply mail and sent the invitations one by one or in tiny groups of related people.
Takes a lot more time, but I never had so much response/conversation, so quickly!
Bye bye newsletter apps, it was fun but now quite inefficient for my kind of ‘business’. :)

Anyone knows what this means: “Gmail requires all senders to authenticate with either SPF or DKIM”

I seem to be unable to send emails from my domain email account to gmail.

Which of these social networks is your current favorite? And why?

For me it's Threads because it seems the liveliest for the things that interest me (AI images & some US politics)

Mastodon and Bluesky are interesting too though for certain other topics where they're better than Threads.

As for toXic, I've deleted my account there a while ago and don't miss it at all.

@WeavingWithAI @hamoid the idea that there are posts that can be missed is false. It’s that illusion that trapped us all in endless doom scrolling. We need to relearn to feel ok with the posts we were able to see. Even only these most of us are unable to process in a good way.

For a ongoing series where I use the whole text of Georges Perec’s book La disparition to create monochrome prints, I am searching for the digital text versions of the Dutch, German, Italian and Swedish translation of the book. Any clues to find/ search are welcome.
Searching for PDF’s online is risky business and e-books are copy-protected. #perec #ladisparation #translations

Today print day of the big blue print. Curious to see this on paper.

Long rectangle animated image were the characters of a text: James Joyce, FINNEGANS WAKE (12292938 characters), A hansup prints are replaced by humanoid figures. After that it show and zooms in the whole text of the book, white text on a blue background.

If all goes well the print will feature in an exhibition later this month. Together with a fine selection of other recent works.
Some Thunder Versatiles

Square abstract black and white composition created by letting sentences of words move over the screen while leaving a trail of their fills. The font for the characters of the text is replaced dynamically while the animation runs.

@judeswae seems clear that these AI tools are not made to draw. They always output bitmap, photo like images. Probably due to their technical setup.

While doing a test print for the big Finnegans Wake, I could not resist to try some of the many works I made with my also ongoing ‘Spinsel’ sketch. Super simple thing, just spinning characters of an input string through the square canvas. The trails of strokes and fills building these amazing graphic patterns to stare at.

My site is a personal tool that happens to be online because I can access everytime my memory glitches… 😉
