Well, no more Blue Microphones... but still the Yeti. If Logitech is going to kill Blue, it should at least kill the worst part of it... But no, because it's the most valuable (to them.)
I predicted this would happen when Blue was bought by Logitech, just didn't think it would take this long.
Blue does (did?) make some decent high-end stuff, but nothing that others aren't doing for less, in many cases.

@BorrisInABox I picked up a used one from eBay when I had spare funds because my headset mic just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I think it sounds pretty awesome, and the whole being able to use it as an external sound card thing doesn't hurt either.

I'm a little confused and would appreciate someone explaining something to me. It seems that Reddit is now going to allow a special exception for a third-party app designed for people with visual impairments, which is really nice. However, I currently use Apollo, and it's about to shut down. I'm wondering if there's another third-party app out there that's specifically designed for people with visual impairments that I might be unaware of. Can someone please help me

@silverleaf57 from what little bit I tested it it sounded mostly OK. Having a floating keyboard sitting in the middle of my home screen isn’t exactly my favorite thing in the world.

Why woudl Appolo for Reddit be dying when it is an accessibilit-based app and Reddit said accessibility-based apps are excempt from teh changes to there API/ No one seems to know the answer.

@pax @glaroc Dystopia is supposedly on the good list according to the email I got last night. I’ll believe that when it’s officially confirmed. Honestly, I would leave all together if there was somewhere to go that had the kind of stuff I use Reddit for in the first place.

Is it normal for a macOS virtual machine to be ridiculously laggy during the set up process and then immediately speed up after that’s done? That just happened to me with Ventura

@pax I can’t run Ventura natively on my computer without open core, which, as we know is not accessible, the software component is, but the rest of the process, nope nope nope

@pax so here’s what happens, the installer runs fine, but once it boots to set up assistant, the whole thing slows to a crawl. If you can get through set up assistant without losing your patience, and flinging a 30 pound computer out the window in some cases, then it’s fine. Then again, I’m also running an older VMware that doesn’t officially support Ventura because my operating system demands it.

So what can I do with the free version of Mona? I'll probably give the money later because that app is super awesome, but that can't happen just yet. I think I've settled on that for a back up client in case the one I'm using decides to go bye-bye.

Also, this new AutoCorrect stuff is kind of creepy. I typed three letters in Mr. phone just goes ahead and finishes the word.

@tmmahaff my echo was set to characters and words. Generally, once I hear the little pop-up bubble, I can just hit the spacebar or a punctuation thingy, and it corrects for me.
