Today I learned that the prod-ready release of is scheduled for the upcoming weeks.

What is your opinion on this? Is it ready for the big show?

I personally love it, but there are still some things I hope will make its way into it. For example I really hope that @davidfowl 'WaitFor' will be introduced before that.

What are you all missing?

Am I the only one who wishes that would assist with Directory.Packages.props and Directory.Build.props files structure? I always have to search for this when starting up a new project.

For that I just wanted to aquire a test version of it, but it seems like it's no longer available. Am I just unable to find the right button or is the test license really gone?

@khalidabuhakmeh Daily at work. We use this still quite expensively with Blazor states and our source generated SignalR hub.

Anything that's bad about this?

@khalidabuhakmeh Sorry for pinging you directly, but you are the one that I follow that might have an answer for me:

regarding the new #JetBrains #AI When I activate it in Fleet is it active for every file I open in Fleet? I basically use Fleet nowadays as my "normal" text editor but I would like to not have the AI doing stuff for normal files.

@khalidabuhakmeh Just alltogether active. I guess that the AI is not doing anything if I'm not asking it to do something, but is it active all the time in the background or is there a way to enable it like the smart mode.

So I could turn it off by default and only opt into using it when I have an file/workspace open that I need the AI.

How quickly are the recordings of the .NET Conf sessions usually available?

Will I most likely be able to watch the ones that happened during the night (I'm in Europe) right on the next morning?

@khalidabuhakmeh Up until now I simply used the nuget UI in Rider, as this also works with CPM.

But more options to do something are always nice!

So I just noticed that by switching to .Net 8 I lost the project templates for Angular in #JetBrains #Rider

The one you can't see in the screen is Blazor WebApp.

I want to do something I've never done: Install a #dotnet RC on my #fedora machine.

What is the best way to do this so that I have the .Net 8 RC1 everywhere available (Rider, Console, VS Code, ...) and don't bork my system with it?

I've looked at the MS docu but I'm not sure how to make the user based install properly available.

How hard is it in to render out a simple ascii-art? I use and simply want to display my ascii-art unchanged.

Can any dev chip in? I must be missing something...

Looking at the Entity Framework 8.0 release that coincides with #dotnet 8, I see it’s about two major features: JSON and Wasm. The rest is bug fixes.

I would like to start some #blogging about #dotnet and I can't decide if I should use something like medium/dev.to or start a own blog. Own blog is so cumbersome with all the GDPR and site notice regulations in Germany. What are you all suggesting?
