The smaller the bird, the more difficult to photograph. The long tailed tit is no exception, as it is rarely still. I spotted this one at Attenborough this morning. It appears to have found a cobweb full of insects, which it is eating. There were lots of midges around today. I saw several species of butterfly too. #naturephotography #nature #birds

Immature grey heron.

I love it when I can capture in the camera the moment when a parent bird turns up bringing food for a youngster. These images were taken last month on the National Trust land at Duckpool in Cornwall. The birds were quite high up on the cliff above the beach, and I was able to use a long zoom. The pictures have also been cropped on the laptop. These birds are wheatears, and the parent bird is the one on the right.
