Let's see how that will go.
I've got a USB Fan here that I will somehow mod onto the #OptiPlex I'm using to further cool it down (Not that it get's too hot - just because I can)
Might also be a good time to change the thermal paste.
Also, I will mount a bigger NVMe drive and give the little thing a good cleaning.
Mini form factors are for sure fun to work with 😎

Volume keys on my Redmi Note 7 just went dead.

What should I do?

danct12,
@danct12@fosstodon.org avatar

@dwagenk Both volume keys are dead on mine. At first it was the keys losing its tactile feedback, then a few hours later they are all dead.

@ozzelot As expected with most Xiaomi devices.

My first Xiaomi phone was a Redmi 4X, it was a very good phone.

@ozzelot

yup! this is the usb-c version of the clone.

works the same, except i had to use the old bootloader.. not sure if i can update the bootloader without having another arduino.

danct12,
@danct12@fosstodon.org avatar

@Sandelinos @ozzelot

It also seems like these clones are prone to body resistance.

I touched the clock oscillator (sometimes the reset button) and the Arduino seems to have crashed as my blinking LED code stops.

@danct12@fosstodon.org avatar

@Sandelinos @ozzelot

I have successfully upgraded the bootloader (to Optiboot) using a Raspberry Pi Pico.

#TopTip If you get hold of an #ESP32S3 board like one of these - then check that the link marked RGB next to the LED is bridged otherwise no lighty! :)

Picture of my board showing link not bridged

danct12,
@danct12@fosstodon.org avatar

@cymplecy

I have two of these, it's apparently a clone of YD-ESP32-S3.

Surprisingly they have a purple version of the board too, and that seems to be much higher quality compared to the black one.

danct12,
@danct12@fosstodon.org avatar

@cymplecy It's prebridged.

Bevy on PinePhone Pro

Bevy can run on Android phones. But what about GNU/Linux phones?
I decided to find out using my PinePhone Pro with RK3399.

Managed to run my game using WGPU_SETTINGS_PRIO=webgl2.
But couldn't get past the main menu due to limited features of the GPU. 😢

But simple 2D games like breakout example runs!

Right now I working on networking for the game, but this evening I decided to tinker with my device a little.
