cheesebean, to retroid

Ordered the #Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. Then got impatient realizing it would take like a month to get here. So I may have accidentally also ordered the #Anbernic RG35XX+. :game_boy:

Irresponsible? Yes. But I do think they have distinct purposes. The gameboy-ish size of the rg35xx is super pocket friendly. Should be great for playing #Pokemon at the gym between sets.

But it seems the RP4p can handle #GameCube and #PS2 emulation with almost no issues.

What should I play on each?

I Drank 32 fluid oz of Water But I’m Still Sad, a plaint.

cheesebean,

@Binder
I recently hit the milestone of drinking 1gal of water per day for a year straight. I gained no superhuman abilities at all, I’ve continued to age at a normal rate, and as far as I can tell am still mortal probably.

Water is a scam.

cheesebean,

@rekiwi @Binder
A gallon of beer per day is a noble goal indeed. And I do think that would solve my problem of aging at a normal rate, in a sense…

It's wild that they released #Oppenheimer, and its sequel, #Godzilla Minus One, in the same year.

Godzilla was amazing. I'd never seen a Japanese Godzilla before. Was in tears by the end. I get it now. Time to watch the original and Shin Godzilla.

#Film #Movies #Kaiju #4DX #Monster #Toho #Tokyo

cheesebean,

@FreiGuy86 I said the exact same thing walking out of it. Was super impressed. More character work like this, please.

  • cheesebean,

    @Binder this has become at least 50% of the job for me and, in my experience, it’s the hardest part.

    If you have a steam deck, would you recommend it?

    cheesebean,

    @soragrey
    100% it’s my favorite. On a normal basis*, the steam deck is pretty much the only console I really ever play consistently.

    *Not the case at the moment though, because of a certain special sword boy.

    cheesebean,

    @soragrey
    Yeah, then it may be a great fit!

    The cons:

    • It’s not great for super high performance stuff for sure. Although I’ve heard nice things about streaming from gaming desktops, I can’t vouch for that.

    • Anything very clicky can be a pain. For example RTS’s, or stuff like The Sims, or I’ve also had some pain points with Kerbal. If it REALLY needs a mouse, you still feel it sometimes.

    I mostly play chill indie stuff. So it’s great for me.

    Heads up: I’m bringing a music listening project that I’ve been working on over to mastodon now. I’ve been calling it “Radio to the Death”.

    Basically I wanted to listen to Rolling Stone’s top 500 albums of all time. But also, I’m me, so everything has to be a game of some kind. As such, I took all the albums and made a tournament bracket seeded by order in the original list. I listen to each pair of albums (in one sitting, ideally) and declare a winner.

    I did not plan this dramatic husband vs. wife jazz showdown, but definitely not mad about it. Both excellent albums.

    There was nothing easy about this one. This matchup was steak vs. candy. It is true, one is objectively better and more well-crafted. Sometimes I do just want candy though. I had to lean toward the core metric of "which one do I want to listen to again more?". I still feel very conflicted about this.
