For you USAians, If you've ever thought you'd like to learn more about modern #T20Cricket (coming to the Olympics in 2028), NOW is a great time. The #T20WorldCup is being held in the Americas (mostly Caribbean, but some in TX/NY/FL, and they're trying to accommodate new USA viewers with some US commentators.)
USA team is in it, winning their opening two matches - one a big upset. In the USA, you can catch most (if not all) matches on Willow TV steaming. It's $10 for a month. (Not a paid shill.)
The bad thing about watching #cricket in the USA is that there are very few advertisers but just as many commercials breaks, so… between today's and yesterday's matches, I've seen the same Audi commercial about… 75 to 100 times—EVERY OVER, EVERY WICKET, EVERY BREAK.
Also annoying: the ad features a smarmy, smug-looking bastard who looks WAY TOO MUCH like Don Trump Jr.
This topic has made me think about the day my dad died. I'll tell a story some will think horrific, but I found quite funny.
My dad died in his home. I was there. I called 911. They came - fire, police, and ultimately the coroner's van. It took a couple of hours before I was able to leave. The coroner's van had left somewhat earlier.
I needed to tell my wife, a teacher in class at the time, so I drove to her school. I stopped at QuikTrip for brunch.
#DoctorWho Series 20 (AKA Peter Davison Season 2) Blu-ray’s, dropped in the US yesterday.
Watched the #FiveDoctors 40th Anniversary edition.
Painfully reminded how fondly remembered this episode is.
Fondly remembered like that time you took a long, ambling, leisurely, 90 minute walk on a miserable rainy day, then waved at some friends before you went home.
