With regard to trust I see your point Kristin. For me it's not so much of an ideological decision but based on where to get (most of my relevant) news from the comminities. And sadly my Mastodon timeline can't serve this purpose :(
Still amazed that I can convert audio to text on my PC for free with a local version of #OpenAI Whisper. Handles multiple audio & video formats and generates txt, srt & 3 more result files.
Yesterday marked my last day as an employed scientist.
After 8 years of hypothesis-driven research, first as a PhD student and later as a PostDoc—first full-time, later part-time—I'm leaving the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research. 🐗 👨🎓
I am sad to close this chapter yet immensely grateful for all the experiences and the collaborative environment. At the same time, I am excited to now dedicate more time to my own business and delve into upcoming data visualization projects 📊🧙♂️
@pyyxxo you should submit this to the little picture challenge - I guess it's not qualified because of the data source but it wonderfully fits their idea IMO!
