Decided to start a replay of Tomb Raider. Crazy to think the rebooted version is already 11 years old.

When I played this the first time around, I thought this scene looked incredible! And although some of the graphics in this game still stand up well today, it’s definitely showing its age!

Scene from Tomb Raider showing Lara Croft standing up whilst bloodied and injured, and looking over a cliffside to a ship and plane wrecks along a rocky shoreline.

@EighthLayer The most obvious thing to me is the shaders. I think that's where games have mostly changed since then.

our orthodontist society is out of control. messed up teeth add character. barring health issues: it's societally-imposed vanity. i will still kiss even the most f$&ked up of teeth mouths.

@buru5 I don't think there's anything too weird there. They are the type of person who could very easily lead you blindly off a cliff, following the instructions of a madman. Anyone who would go so far as to inject poison into their 20 year old face, or shove chemicals on their teeth or lie under a uv light to bake their skin, is not someone I could relate to or trust in any real way. I'm only being 5% honest though. Everyone has their own battle, and I'd make a effort to understand them.

@jake4480 @buru5 @spinning_bird if only there wasn't a stigma attached. I'd like it if my teeth were less yellow, but that is only because of stigma, my teeth are actually pretty healthy.

The CEO of Exxon just said "we've waited too long" to tackle climate change. He blames "society" and "activists".

Yes, Exxon. Yes, Exxon. Yes, Exxon: the corporation that for decades has been spending millions to slow progress on climate change, despite its own research showing the problem was urgent.

He said:

"We've waited too long to open the aperture on the solution sets in terms of what we need, as a society, to start reducing emissions.... Frankly, society, and the activist — the dominant voice in this discussion — has tried to exclude the industry that has the most capacity and the highest potential for helping with some of the technologies."

What is this — some sort of dark, twisted joke?

@johncarlosbaez When the public transport infrastructure is just not there, I don't think you can claim it's 'personal responsibility' of the people who are driving to their workplace, to struggle to pay their rent. There needs to be holistic solutions across society, individuals generally have very little influence, especially when struggling just to survive.

Hello everyone. I'm a creator in North Wales,
I mostly spend my time fan-editing movies and playing games. I like to explore environments and try to figure out stories from what I find. New account. #introduction
