I keep seeing people online saying that #Linux isn’t ready for professionals, or that the Linux desktop isn’t for doing real work, or this usual « year of Linux desktop » meme.
So I thought I’d address the topic, because Linux is undeniably already being used by professionals all around the world, and definitely has a lot of tools to do professional work, either #OpenSource or proprietary:
OK, it's not open source, and it doesn't have anything to do with maps, but bear with me for a second if you're into music or audio production as well:
Studio One is coming to Linux;
Bitwig Studio and Studio One have developed a interoperable format, allowing to pass projects from one to another.
Pretty good news for the #linuxAudio world, if you ask me.
It's about exchanging musical projects between different Digital Audio Workstations (sequencers). Wasn't really a fitting solution in place as the other solutions were either geared towards video work or pure MIDI. Supported by Bitwig Studio 5.0.9 and Studio One 6.5 as of today.
I am working on this mix since AGES. and i just wanna get it right and done and then do the master.
studio one has huge bugs today and on top I don't hear the issues anymore right now. Any advises?
Is the compression ok? Is the voice too loud or too quiet in some areas?
