I’ve already had to get my windshield on my new #Prius fixed because it got a small crack from a rock while driving on the freeway.
The guy who fixed it told me I better get used to it. The car is really low to the ground and because the windshield is super slanted, it has a much larger surface area — which means more area to get hit by road debris.
Reminder that the difference between BEVs and PHEVs in terms of emissions is much smaller than the BEV promoters have claimed. In fact, it is arguable that small PHEVs are the greenest cars you can buy today. In reality, BEVs are only one type of green car, not the only kind. And the obsession with only BEVs is just a fad. Even a cult at times.
My 15 year old Prius popped a P0A7F code this morning. Local dealership say they can get an inspection maybe on Thursday, but that they may not be able to actually do anything until December? What the hell kind of schedule is that.
Well, it was a fun experience to run down a rented #Prius' battery in an hour while being parked, just by the entertainment system. Then the car is dead.
Then had to wait another hour to someone come out and have enough battery to start the engine and begin charging again when on the move...
Lessons learned, hybrids work differently? Or just do not rent a car (it would have been cheaper taking taxi back and forth).
It’s disappointing (and mind-boggling) to see Japanese auto makers so far behind on the #EV game; Toyota virtually invented started the electrification ball rolling with their hybrid technology and the #Prius was the first massively adopted eco-focussed vehicle. Somehow they went from that to siding with the #Trump administration in opposing fuel economy standards.
That and the last CEO’s pigheaded focus on #Hydrogen fuel cells. 🤦♂️
Stupid is as stupid does. Prius driven onto the CalTrain tracks at Churchill and Alma, Palo Alto, CA as I was biking home Saturday. I let out a louder than intended expletive and the responding Palo Alto police officer answered with a "Yep" lol #darwinaward#prius#stupid#baddriving
