Only 11°C outside now, going down to 7C overnight and a high of 20C tomorrow. The house is a bit cool heading to bed. I suspect I'll want to run the furnace tomorrow morning to take the chill off for breakfast.
I'm glad the temps are staying low as we head into June. Makes enjoying the outdoors much nicer if we're not into the hot stuff.
A nice break in the #weather with cooler temperatures today. We'd been into the first period this season hot enough to warrant turning on the AC in the evenings before bed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some intense midweek rain also put an end to the longest #tulips-in-bloom period I can recall, finally knocking the flower petals off. :(
The combo of the squirrels leaving them alone for a change, and stable weather had kept them intact – nice indeed!
Today is #Ottawa's 43rd consecutive day with maximum temperature ≥ 5°C. This is the longest run before May 18 in 19 years, since May 17th, 2005. #YowWx#OttWeather#YOW#ONWx
Don't think it'll accumulate at all, but a good flurry happening now. Tulips are up, trees are leafing out and the grass is green, but a little hint of winter holds on.
Good job folks. Whoever decided that there was no need to cancel school buses today deserves a raise. I hope they have a long career renown for such wisdom. #ottweather#ottawa
Still storming outside and snow starting to accumulate on the asphalt too. Wind howling.
Going to disable the heating cycle tonight and not have the house cool down as it would usually do. If we lose power that's an extra few degrees of warmth in the bank, just in case.
Just checking the outlook for Wednesday/Thurs now and I see that system is forecast at about 46cm now!
Lots of at-or-above zero temps though, so maybe it'll melt as it goes along? Depends on the rate tho, and I suspect it'll be pretty intensive if we get that much over that short a period.
