These name tags at State of the Map US are beautifully designed, but the name needs to be bigger! I have to get way too close to people to read their name.
Are there any good software/websites that let you add notes to a map?
I'd like to write down notes of places in China where friends live or I have visited, to help me learn the geography.
Tomorrow night! #OpenStreetMap#meetup up in the Monkey Puzzle pub in Paddington from 7pm. Just a social pub gathering. No need to sign-up, although you can mark yourself as attending on osmcal if you like: https://osmcal.org/event/2885/
Fun Overpass-Turbo query for #OpenStreetMap: a map of all the K2 and K6 series telephone boxes in London.
Just in case you want to take a red phone box tourist photo and the Tube is screwed or there's a marathon or whatever on and the usual toursity ones in Parliament Square/Covent Garden aren't accessible.
You can also move the map location and re-run the query to find them anywhere else (including the ones outside the UK).
This coming Tuesday, join us in the Monkey Puzzle pub, Paddington, from 7pm. A casual social #meetup for #OpenStreetMap users/contributors.
Also check out the @lrug tech presentation event the following week (Sign up now open for that one) https://wiki.osm.org/London#Upcoming_Events
Started looking at KartoView, Mapillary and Mapilio as ways to contribute to @openstreetmap KartoView log in with OSM doesn’t seem to work. Mapilio crashes when you try to record. Mapillary work quite well, then I found out it’s been bought by #Meta and now I’m not so keen. Any recommendations? #OpenSource#OpenStreetMap#DigitalMap#OSM
Oh, bummer! #qwant's #OpenStreetMap based map is finally gone; map.qwant.com redirects to www.qwant.com. Any other good vector based worldwide cover #osm based map out there?
For my #OpenStreetMap#MapRoulette workshop, do you have suggestions for a mapping topic to build a challenge around? OSM mapping tasks that could be fixed by anyone in a small amount of time?
I finally got around to joining the @openstreetmap Foundation. The web form to confirm that I qualify as an active contributor was clunky (I got an error message and there was no immediate confirmation email), but it did work. To celebrate, I'll do some more edits today! #OpenStreetMap is awesome.
I've been in Europe for three weeks and hardly found any #OpenStreetMap things to edit at all — it's all just so complete (at least as far as this Aussie can tell; I'm sure locals have lots to add). The other day I did find a road that turned into a dirt track, so I've at least updated that! https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/151866062#Salzburg

Je viens de suivre Geovelo qui m'a envoyé par des endroits administrativement autorisés au vélo, mais de fait peu praticables (trop étroit, pente et barrière sur le chemin). Comment tagguer ça dans openstreetmap ?
My first hiking trail in #OpenStreetMap. 💪
It's actually a pilgrimage trail. Not that I'd be very religious, but it's a nice trail for hiking, my favorite, and it hadn't been in #OSM yet.
OpenStreetMap is awesome. But vandalism to get an unfair advantage in a game (#cheating) is not.
But I also blame Pokémon Go; the game should have never trusted a source data blindly in the first place; if you know the Internet, you should have predicted this.
My collaborative map of things to see / do / drink / eat around #SaltLakeCity is ready for action and help visitors for the #OpenStreetMap@sotmus conference discover our city!
From 13 March 2023 to 20 June 2023, the Open Mapping Hub - Eastern and Southern Africa is running a mapping campaign aimed at increasing the visibility of women-focused points of interest (POIs) on #OpenStreetMap (OSM).
Wer vielleicht #OpenStreetMap schon kennt, aber sich bisher nicht an #wikidata getraut hat, für den läuft bis Monatsende eine spannender Wettbewerb, um Objekte dort zu georeferenzieren:
